A detailed induction to the company, to get you ready for your first day,
will be followed by a 12 week on-the-job training programme, after which you’ll
sit down with your manager for your initial appraisal to discuss your achievements
so far and the way forward.
You’ll then receive regular training on any new procedures and initiatives
as they are introduced and, once a year, you’ll have a performance appraisal
with your manager.
We’ve an extensive range of resources to support your development
and, as a new manager, you’ll spend time working in a similar-sized
store to learn the ropes. We’ve courses available to equip new managers
with all they need in their first few months. We also run bespoke workshops
for our existing managers to keep their skills up-to-date.
Each of our stores
has a structured Management Development Programme and, as we take talent
seriously at Next, we can offer lots of opportunities for progression to
those who are keen to make their way up the career ladder.
