## Description

**The Role:**
At Next we have a great opportunity for a Crime Centre Operative to join our Loss Prevention team in Doncaster. Reporting directly to the Crime Centre Manager, you will play a vital role in protecting our people, assets, and brand. As a Crime Centre Operative, you will be part of a dedicated team providing comprehensive loss prevention and security support across allocated retail sites.

Operating from a fully equipped control room, your day-to-day focus will involve proactive and retrospective CCTV reviews, incident monitoring, and risk intelligence gathering. You will serve as an essential link between in-store teams, field officers, internal management, and external agencies- delivering exceptional customer service, maintaining strict confidentiality, and upholding high standards of site safety and security.

**What You'll Take On:**

- Proactively and retrospectively monitor site CCTV systems to detect acts of dishonesty, identify stock loss trends, highlight Health & Safety breaches, and record all events accurately.
- Serve as a central communication hub during major incidents, liaising with command, control, and crisis management teams, while providing calm support to affected staff.
- Monitor global risk intelligence software and media sources to identify emerging threats to assets or personnel, using data sources to spot and escalate fraudulent activity.
- Respond to direct calls for service from retail stores and field teams, creating and disseminating detailed intelligence packages for internal stakeholders and external law enforcement agencies.
- Submit clear, detailed reports and handle all evidential material meticulously to ensure it remains accessible, admissible, and fully compliant with GDPR and company policies.
- Handle telephone and email enquiries, assist with training new team members, and ensure all performance standards and SLAs set by the Crime Centre Manager are consistently met.

**What You'll Bring:**

- Comprehensive experience operating CCTV systems, alongside an excellent standard of general IT skills (including Microsoft and Google suites).
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, a professional telephone manner, and the ability to remain calm, patient, and resilient under pressure or when dealing with distressed callers.
- High attention to detail with the ability to listen, interpret complex information, complete comprehensive reports, and identify patterns in stock loss or data.
- A strong understanding of the critical need for confidentiality, data protection (GDPR), and professional integrity when handling sensitive information.
- Proven ability to work proactively on your own initiative as well as collaboratively within a team, with the capability to prioritise heavy workloads and make sound decisions under minimal supervision.
- Readiness to work flexible shift patterns (including nights, weekends, and bank holidays) in a sedentary control room environment, and willingness to complete a standard CRB check.
