Area Manager - Travel Retail

Reports to Director of Travel Retail

 

DESCRIPTION:

The role of the Area Manager is to own key partner relationships with complexity, strategic growth potential, and large retail/shipping volume. This position is responsible for leveraging resources cross-functionally both internally and externally to build & drive the business with a high level of autonomy.  This relationship includes negotiations, business development, planning & allocation, and achieving financial targets (Retail Sales, Shipments and MDs) for their assigned partner portfolio.  The Area Manager will be responsible for creating SKU level product and inventory plans for their partners and will be responsible for creating partner level allocations based on retail sales trends and inventory needs.  The Area Manager will provide ship sales and retail sales analysis, insights and recommendations to maximize sales and profitability for the Brand and our partners.

ACCOUNT MANAGEMENT: Be the key point of contact with the partner

  • Maintain a cadence of formal meetings with partners 
  • Maintain ongoing dialogues on the 4 areas of business:
  • Retail Sales performance

  • Planning / inventory management
  • NBD
  • Develop and own the communication plan for each partner and ensure alignment in the execution with Store Operations & Division Coordinator accordingly
  • Facilitate partner on-boarding in the US and in region

 

RETAIL SALES (Sell-out): Achieve Retail Sales Goals 

  • Joint ownership of retail sales goals with the Store Operations team
  • Partner with the Store Operations team to continually drive & enhance the retail fundamentals. Support coordination of floor sets (inventory, execution, new product launches) and strategic initiatives to ensure implementation
  • Maintain ongoing dialogue with partners on retail sales performance and quality of execution
  • Execute the SAS strategy for product exits and execute MSS where required; Manage the related mark-down process in partnership with Finance
  • Manage the annual, recommended price-list updates

 

REVENUE / SHIPMENTS (sell-in): Achieve shipment goals

  • Sell-in seasonal product strategies to partners
  • Communicate floorset cascade to partners
  • Secure partner orders per the operations calendar 
  • Provide necessary inputs to partner meetings

 

PLANNING: Manage the Partner Inventory (Planning & Allocation)

  • Work with Partners to align on retail sales and shipped sales forecasts for future buy periods to result in the appropriate demand quantity by category for that partners 

locations (Partner OTB) and complete/update the Partner OTB tool.

  • Accountable for Always In Stock Program (AISP) % and Weeks on Supply (WOS)
  • Partner with the Regional Planner to provide all necessary inputs to merchandise plans for relevant partners in alignment with established deadlines:
  • SKU level product and inventory plans across categories
  • Identify product opportunities and recommend adjustment of shipment receipts and flow based on sales performance.
  • Prepare key inventory and sales reports to support Merchandise Planning Committee meeting (MPC) and other management meetings.

 

NBD: Grow & Maintain the Store and Non-Store base

  • Negotiate commercial terms and ensure proper execution/alignment with management, legal, & finance teams (term sheets, new store profitability)
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders including partners, airport authorities/landlord at executive leadership
  • Unlock new stores & counters using rules of engagement and right of first refusal principles, while understanding competitive environment
  • Lead the coordination of activities to successfully open new locations on time & to budget in alignment with the SOP
  • Ensure timely and accurate updates of the Site Summary Form (SSF), Contract, and New Customer Form (Form G) for all proposed locations

 

EXPERIENCE:

  • 2-4 years of experience in travel retail wholesale account management; retail planning experience preferred
  • Strong negotiation skills & problem-solving skills
  • Excellent retail math skills, excellent technical proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
  • Demonstrated ability to work cross-culturally and cross-functionally in a matrix organization; able to build strong relationships across varying levels 
  • Self-starter, willing to be hands-on and roll-up sleeves
  • Ability to recognize opportunities and quickly turn them in to recommendations
  • Acute sense of brand and customer intimacy
  • Strong communication, presentation, and influencing skills
  • Ability to travel roughly 25% of the time
  • Fluency in English required, fluency in other local languages a plus

PR & Influencer Manager

This is a newly created role within the UK Marketing team that will lead the PR and influencer strategy for Victoria’s Secret in the UK; working closely with the UK Team, the broader global PR team in the US and our new partners at Next. 

 

Role Responsibilities:

 

  • Work closely with the UK Marketing Director team to agree the UK PR & Influencer strategy, working within global brand guidelines whilst also driving UK objectives. 

 

  • Develop an excellent working relationship with our partners in the US team and the Next team, working collaboratively and following global guidelines where appropriate. 

 

  • Develop positive and productive relationships with a broad range of journalists across a range of traditional and digital platforms.

 

  • Lead the delivery of key elements of the PR strategy resulting in positive, on message coverage in offline and digital press including Media sell-ins and pitching to journalists to secure impressive coverage.

 

  • Think outside of the box to develop and implement creative PR campaigns and influencer relationships, including events which will support brand launches, campaigns and new store openings.

 

  • Establish our long term UK influencer strategy which will support the wider marketing calendar creating campaigns that support our brand objectives, promote positive sentiment and complement global goals.

 

  • Project manage influencer campaigns from initial response through to post campaign reporting, including campaign activation and talent content creation.

 

  • Build and nurture strong, long-term partnerships with celebrities and influencers, whilst ensuring continued research into new influencers.

 

  • Prepare reporting as required



Essential Criteria:

 

  • Experience of working in a busy press office managing and creating compelling media campaigns.

  • Excellent media relations skills and good relationships with a range of journalists both from traditional and digital platforms.

  • Excellent project management skills with proven planning, organisation, and communication experience.

The Store Manager is the driver of total store sales, the customer experience, overall operational excellence and our high performance selling culture. Seasonal Associate - Metrocentre Gateshead

The Seasonal Associate drives sales growth by flexing into multiple areas of the store including selling, cashiering, processing, replenishing, setting floorsets and/or cleaning. Serving the customer is always top priority regardless of work area. The Seasonal Associate will likely spend the majority of their time in two of these skill areas and will have the opportunity to learn other skills as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

When assigned to the sales floor:

  • Drives store sales and growth by personally selling to customers
  • Proactively engages with customers, reads cues and responds effectively
  • Provides customers with the perfect bra fit by asking effective questions
  • Converting returns, offers and other promotions into larger sales

When assigned to the cash wrap:

  • Delivers a friendly and efficient cash wrap experience, processing customer transactions accurately and efficiently at the Point of Sale (POS) or Mobile Register
  • Reinforces customer buying decisions at checkout and encourages purchase of additional items
  • Recovers cash wrap selling zone and “go-backs”
  • Builds customer loyalty through customer email capture

When assigned to processing and replenishment:

  • Processes merchandise to be floor ready and maintains back room and under stock to brand standards
  • Replenishes merchandise to brand standards to ensure product is placed on the sales floor and available for purchase
  • Assists with other projects as needed including markdowns, re-tickets and the mark out of stock process

When assigned to floorset activity:

  • Executes floorset proficiently
  • Understands and adheres to brand standards
  • Assists with maintenance of back room and under stock, including merchandise and non-merchandise, to brand standards to enable efficient replenishment
