Summary

Working Pattern: Typically 5 days in the office, with core hours flexible between 8am-6pm.

The Role
As a Menswear Woven Bottoms Designer for Next Sourcing, you aren't just following trends, you’re defining them. You will be the creative engine within our in-house global supply chain, pushing the boundaries of what menswear looks like on a global scale. Your mission is to bridge the gap between high-level trend concepts and commercial reality, ensuring our collections remain innovative, sustainable, and market-leading

Next Sourcing

We’re so much more than just a British retailer. From Istanbul to Shanghai, our Sourcing teams live and work in some of the most iconic cities in the world.

They're at the heart of finding, developing and delivering the products our customers love, wear and use every day. Located across the globe, our Next Sourcing teams specialise in all different parts of the sourcing operation, from design and technology to product development. If you’ve always wanted to live and work abroad, this is the opportunity you’ve been looking for.

What You’ll Take On

As our specialist in Woven Bottoms, you will be the driving force behind our menswear collections, balancing the art of trend-led design with the precision of global sourcing. Your day-to-day will involve:

  • Leading the Design Vision: Owning the end-to-end design process for all Men’s Woven Bottoms, focusing on delivering high-quality, trend-driven basics that define the modern wardrobe.
  • Rapid Trend Translation: Identifying emerging global trends and pivoting quickly to translate them into elevated, commercially successful products that resonate with our customers.
  • Agile Creative Execution: Responding to fast-paced design briefs with speed and accuracy, ensuring high-quality output even on tight turnaround schedules.
  • Strategic Commercial Design: Crafting styles that hit specific price point targets without ever compromising on the "NEXT" standard of quality or aesthetic.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partnering closely with Buyers, Sourcing teams, and Global Suppliers to ensure every garment is delivered exactly to spec and on time.
  • Dynamic Collection Support: Flexing your creativity across both our foundational core lines and high-impact, project-based seasonal collections.

What You’ll Bring

We are looking for a seasoned designer who pairs creative flair with the technical discipline required for a global supply chain. To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Proven Woven Expertise: A strong background in Woven Design is essential. You understand the nuances and the technicalities of woven construction.
  • Design Software Mastery: Expert-level proficiency in Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator to produce precise, high-quality CADs and presentations.
  • Retail or Supplier Experience: A solid track record working within a high-volume retailer or a large-scale supplier, giving you a deep understanding of the pace and scale at NEXT.
  • Strategic Collaboration: The ability to work seamlessly with global factories, diverse brands, and retailers. You know how to communicate a design vision to a manufacturer just as well as you do to a stakeholder.
  • A Collaborative Mindset: Strong interpersonal skills and a natural ability to work within a team, combined with a genuine passion for fashion and a hunger to explore new creative opportunities.

To be considered for this role, a portfolio must be included with your application. We want to see your creative process, your technical CAD skills, and your ability to translate trends into wearable, commercial Menswear.
