We're looking for a Developer to join our HR Technology team on a 12 month FTC. Based from NEXT Head Office in Leicestershire!

The Role:

Our HR Development team is looking for a technical specialist to ensure the systems supporting our global workforce run with precision. You will act as a primary technical contact, bridging the gap between our people and the technology they use every day.

Whether you are developing new features for our in-house platforms or providing vital support during seasonal events, your work directly impacts how we look after our colleagues. From day one, you will be part of a collaborative IT community where we encourage you to share your expertise and help shape our technical processes.

What You’ll Take On:

  • Solve and Evolve: Investigate and resolve issues across more than 20 diverse HR systems to ensure our colleagues have the tools they need.
  • User-Centric Design: Work closely with internal users to design and improve features that make our HR processes more efficient.
  • Technical Support: Provide essential second-line support by identifying root causes of application defects and implementing effective fixes.
  • System Health: Lead technical deployments and monitor system health, reacting quickly to server upgrades or performance needs.
  • Quality Code: Build clean, reusable code that strengthens our core platforms and ensures long-term stability.Mentorship: Support the growth of the whole team by mentoring new colleagues, graduates, and placement students.

What You’ll Bring:

  • Technical Expertise: A talent for writing efficient code using .Net, C#, and SQL/TSQL, with a practical understanding of Javascript and Visual Studio.
  • Curiosity: The ability to learn new systems from scratch and quickly understand complex data flows.
  • Problem Solving: A methodical approach to de-coding legacy systems and finding effective solutions.
  • Clear Communication: The ability to speak confidently with both technical teams and business users.
  • Collaboration: A mindset that enjoys helping others and contributes to a positive team environment.
  • Flexibility: Strong organisational skills and the ability to provide support out-of-hours when the business needs it most.

If you have the technical expertise and a collaborative mindset to strengthen the systems our colleagues rely on, we would love to see your application.
