Summary

The role

NEXT is a fast-moving business where data drives our decisions. We have an opportunity for an Insight Aanalyst to join our Credit and Risk Analytics team within Finance. You will help manage our £1.3B credit portfolio, using data to understand our 3 million credit customers and evolve how we work.

You will be part of a team responsible for setting the lending strategy that keeps NEXT moving forward. This position is based at our Head Office and sits at the heart of our financial operations. You will use industry-standard tools like SQL, Python, and Databricks to turn complex data into clear, actionable insights that improve our customer proposition and business profit.

What you’ll take on
  • Drive Strategy: You will design, test, and implement strategy changes that help grow the business while maintaining a responsible lending approach.
  • Identify Opportunities: Through complex analysis of multiple data sources, you will pinpoint risks and opportunities within our current processes.
  • Collaborate Across the Business: You will work with Senior Analysts and teams across Marketing, Tech, and Customer Experience to deliver portfolio strategies that work for everyone.
  • Own the Narrative: You will build and present reporting to internal stakeholders, becoming an expert in the commercial and regulatory aspects of our lending activity.
What you’ll bring
  • Analytical Experience: You have at least 2 years of experience in an insight-based strategy or analyst role, ideally within financial services or consumer lending.
  • Technical Proficiency: You are confident using SQL or Databricks to analyse data. Knowledge of Python is an advantage.
  • Problem-Solving Mindset: You enjoy getting stuck into complex challenges and have the drive to join the dots across different sources of information.
  • Communication Skills: You can speak with clarity and conviction, making it easy for others to understand your insights and support your recommendations.

We don’t expect you to tick every box. If you have a desire to learn fast and a passion for using data to make a difference, we want to hear from you.
